Integrated heating network Freiburg-Süd: Inauguration of the Schwarzwaldmilch Energy Station

The new hybrid energy station on the premises of the Dairy Schwarzwaldmilch was inaugurated yesterday in the middle of Freiburg. The plant from our customer badenovaWÄRMEPLUS makes it possible for 4.38 MW of previously unused industrial waste heat to be converted into climate-neutral heat with immediate effect.

The new energy center is part of the Freiburg-Süd integrated heating network and is an important step towards decarbonizing the heat supply. This means that 3,500 people in the south of Freiburg can be supplied with climate-neutral heat. With the integration of industrial waste heat, around 3,000 tons of CO2 can be saved every year.

To ensure that this works smoothly, our higher-level energy station control system  is used. But that's not all: the Freiburg-Süd integrated heating network - and soon also the Freiburg-West integrated heating network - is being implemented with our heat grid control system.

The city of Freiburg and Badenova are pursuing an ambitious goal: a climate-neutral district heating supply is to be available for the entire city by 2035. Challenge accepted! We would like to thank you for the great cooperation in this fantastic project.
