Smart Grids project - virtual power plant Neckar-Alb

Numerous Smart Grids activities are currently running in Baden-Württemberg. In the demonstration project "Virtual Power Plant Neckar-Alb", of the Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences, we are building the central control system as the basis for the virtual power plant. In this system, all the relevant data from the various producers, consumers and storage as well as the network state are combined. It also serves as an information and research platform for the topics of combined heat and power, demand-side management, capacity marketing, sectoral coupling, e-mobility, network optimization and energy storage.

The cooperation network offers a knowledge and practice transfer on a high professional level as well as a demonstration and test environment for all actors in the energy supply chain. The goal is to develop innovative components in all areas to create a flexible, standardized overall system of a virtual power plant, which at any time ensures the coupling of a wide range of individual systems, while at the same time taking into account all relevant views, such as dealers, suppliers, network operators, users and guarantees as well an optimal power-heat/cold cross-connection.
