Press release - A better future also for those who face particular handicaps in their lives. AVAT Automation GmbH once again placed its national and international customers and partners at the centre of its donation campaign last year. Under the motto "Help us - give a star", they were called upon to give a star at 30 euros each instead of Christmas presents. Thanks to the large number of participants, more than 200 poinsettias were collected for the two non-profit associations in Tübingen, ELHKE - Elterninitiative Herzkrankener Kinder e. V. and LeiTa - Lernen im Tandem e. V..

"With our annual Christmas campaign we want to support primarily smaller organisations directly in our region", says Frank Ganssloser. "It has always been close to our hearts to support people in changing their situation in a positive way", he continues. The donations were handed over on Wednesday, at AVAT's offices on Derendinger Strasse. Frank Ganssloser handed over the donation cheques with a total value of 6,666 euros to the representatives of the two charity organisations.

Further information about the organisations:

ELHKE e. V. – Heart defects are among the most common congenital malformations - about every 100th child in Germany is born with a heart defect. The initiative of parents from children suffering heart diseases, ELHKE e. V., is an association dedicated to improve the social situation of this group of people and to accompany families with children suffering from heart disease on their difficult way and to offer them different aids, e.g. by supporting projects for the aftercare and rehabilitation of children, adolescents and their families suffering from heart disease, by organising information and lecture events and by financing the necessary measures. LeiTa e. V. – Every child and every young person has the right to education, the development of talents and personality, assistance with difficulties, vocational training and preparation for an independent life as an adult. Unfortunately the reality for many young people is different. Parents and teachers are hardly in a position to respond adequately to the individual needs of weaker pupils. By arranging volunteer sponsorships for children and young people with special support needs, the association 'Learning in Tandem e. V.' provides them with a person of trust who can compensate for deficits and positively influence the personality of the young person.
